The manner in which we live our lives expresses who we are and what we are about. The core values of my life are the same as those that make me a better lawyer - the values of self-perfection, honesty, integrity, humility and gratitude for all the blessings in my life. Each of these values has roots in many traditions and cultures across the globe. As I have learned more and grown closer to these values, I have noticed that they help me provide quality legal representation. I have found clients appreciate my approach because they know they can trust me. More than anything else, trust is critical in the legal relationship. I work very hard to earn the trust of my clients every day.
This approach provides tangible benefits for my clients. Most frequently, my clients tell me they value my counsel because they know I will not charge them for superfluous items. I walk my clients through each step of what I am doing for them and why, often deferring to their continued authorization to ensure compliance with their wishes. Most specifically, I reduce my rate for non-legal tasks such as business travel and rarely charge for light expenses like copies and postage. If you search around, you will find this approach sets me apart from the rest.
Finally, I demand of myself the highest standard I can set - I will never fail to do something I have told a client I will do. This is a goal; because we are human, we know that we will sometimes fail to meet our own standards. I am different because I will make amends should I fail. I offer $50 to my clients if I don’t do something I promised. My reasoning is that such an approach is a reminder of the sacred trust placed in an attorney, and any breach of that service represents another potential story or joke about a lawyer. Why do I take this so seriously? Because people are losing faith that attorneys are honest people, and the work lawyers do is fundamental to the proper operation of our justice system. I refuse to be a part of that. Let me prove to you that my integrity means more to me than the thickness of my wallet. Come find out what it means to have an attorney who holds themselves to a higher standard.
Do you hold yourself to a similar ethical, moral, or religious-based standard? You are my ideal client. I would enjoy meeting you and representing you if you ever need legal services. Do you believe in a higher power and focus on making other people’s lives better through your gifts? Please call me, I may be able to help you in ways other lawyers cannot.
