Expungements

Is there something preventing you from being hired in your background?  It may be possible to have it erased from your record so that employers will be more likely to hire you.  The Criminal Court Clerk's Office handles eligibility for expungements, and all court costs must be paid before a retired, dismissed, nolle, no true bill, or other charge can be expunged.

If you are successful, an expungement will wipe clear your record of the charge or offense that has been expunged, leaving no trace on your record should someone inquire about your status.  Make sure to keep a copy of the expungement when you have it finished – there is no other record that it will have been removed, and the court destroys their copy as soon as they erase the record.
